Milestone

Ellie and I each went through our own milestones today!

Ellie actually asked to be put down for a nap today. She fell asleep on her own and woke up happy.

I, on the other hand, did not ask Ellie to put me down for a nap today. I made it through. I stayed up groggily and will now sleep happily.

Potty training update: After avoiding the potty for a good month, Ellie sat on her potty. She grimaced a face, grunted and tried her best to "make" in the potty, but nothing happened. Good try Ellie! Good try!

More Ellie pics.

Pictures pretty much sums up Ellie's personality...long eyelashes...loves Nemo...loves being a princess and posing for the camera....loves apple pears....loves wearing hoodies, blankets, shirts, or pants over her head.

Belated

Oh! I'm wishing myself a Happy Belated One Year Anniversary since I joined this world called blogging with my very first post about Twirly Curl Barbie! Cheers!

Easter Dress

Here are the pictures I promised. These are not the most flattering pics of Ellie, but I was told that when she put it on, she danced around the kitchen like a ballerina. Look how big the dress is on her! Oh...she's so skinny.

Catch Phrase

Ellie's new catch phrase for the day is "It's so cute!"

And her Easter dress is here! Yeah!!!

Pictures to come.

Baby Doll

My husband and I often wonder how Ellie will treat her younger brother or sister. A lot of people tell us we may have some resistance to the new arrival. It's a general given that the older sibling will show feelings of jealousy or resentment.

Well, I purchased a baby doll who only pees when she sits on her potty...it's genious! I thought watching this baby may stir up some interest in Ellie to use the potty herself. As soon as we opened the box, Ellie fell immediately in love with her. She said, "Awww! It's so cute! Wanna come to Ellie?" She wrapped the doll in her blanket and rocked her, sang to her, strolled her, fed her, helped her go potty, wiped her, took a nap with her, and consoled her when she was crying.

I know the doll is nothing compared to the real thing, but if I got anything out of this day, it is that Ellie is a very nurturing person. Ellie is always so willing to help out and as Pumpkin's mother will testify, she did a great job calming her baby with a silver bag. =)

Another Ice Cream Incident

Jae is infamous for his famous ice cream phrase, "It's strawberry, it's chocolate, it's vanilla...it's metropolitan ice cream."

Although Jae did not say anything interesting like that, he did something I think only .2% of the male population has done.

I woke up this morning craving for ice cream when I walked into the kitchen and found the lid of the ice cream container. "Oh great!" Just when I want ice cream, my husband eats it. The lid was dried up with ice cream and very sticky, but I could not find the ice cream container. Later in the day, Chloe had grabbed another one of Ellie's shoes, so I grabbed her shoes and walked over to the foyer to place them back in the shoe rack when lo and behold!...there was an empty, dried-up, sticky ice cream container sitting on top of the shoe rack! It was almost as if I were the detective and Jae was the not-so-clever thief who left his trails behind.

As I've said time and time again, all I could do was shake my head. Another one of Jae's follies.

The Sensitive Man

Jae comes home today and says, "Chloe, (our dog) you need a bath today. Actually, everyone in this house needs a bath."

I sneered as usual. Why doesn't he just throw loofah in my face? I reminded my husband that he once used to be a sensitive man. Then he said, "If you had been eating on a normal cycle, you wouldn't have been insulted by that comment."

Does he realize I had just spent the past 6 days without getting more than straight 3 hours of sleep?

I love my husband, but I miss the Sensitive Man.
