Oh Christmas Tree...

This tree has decided to retire. It's another Charlie Brown Christmas at Roxbury Lane.

Another Jae-ism #24

I made a remark to Jae about how babies and kids seem to be drawn to him. They love looking at him or playing with him. I said that kids really seem to flock to him.

Then Jae says, "I have a distinct aroma."

I remarked, "You mean aura?"

"Oh, is that how you say it?"

This beats Metropolitan ice cream.

Thankful for Jesus

As I was tucking Ellie in bed on Thanksgiving evening, I suggested we say a quick prayer to God telling Him what we were/are thankful for. I said that I was thankful that God gave me such wonderful friends and a beautiful family and especially thankful for Ellie, my first child who is also my first love. Then I asked Ellie what she was most thankful for.

She said, "I'm thankful for Jesus."
"Me too, sweetie. Me too."

Bread and Water

People have been asking me what I'd like to eat after I giving birth. I no longer care. As long as it's food, I will eat it.

Gestational Diabetes requires me to stay away from sweets like fruit and desserts and simple carbs like rice and pasta...that's basically my main diet. =)

Swelling of my feet and ankles requires me to stay away from anything salty or caffienated...my back up diet.

The flatulance/gas I've had requires me to stay away from vegatables, beans, and fried foods.

My God! What is there left for me to eat? Jail food! But if I'm really good, I can have a glass of milk or a piece of fruit in the middle of the frickin' night when all I want to do at that time is to sleep.

I feel hungry.

Jack

My nephew had surgery earlier today. He had a condition called Pyloric Stenosis. You can look it up to find out more info about it.

Our family went to visit him today. He was loaded with morphine to keep him comfortable. And he awoke in time for a diaper change and his first feeding after surgery. And I saw his tiny battle scar.

Although I know he is going to be fine from now on, I couldn't help but cry for him and even the baby he was sharing a room with who also had surgery today for the same condition. Jack is such a trooper...such a good boy.

Please pray for him in the next couple of days as he recovers. Pray that he will adjust smoothly with his feedings and he will find joy in eating again. Pray for my sister and Alex as well, that God will give them strength in many forms that only He can give so they can give their best to Jack.
